I arrived in London late last year. When I moved into my flat I didn’t see the cracks in the ceilings, the busy main road or the tiny bedroom fit for a pair of shoes. I saw possibilities. Just one day previous I had been in a west country B&Q store buying my cactus Alfredo. As I walked him to the car that day we both said goodbye to Bristol and hello to the capital. He was a big city cactus and I was in for an adventure.
